I am a High School debate student in Northern Nevada. I wrote a piece of legislation for student congress on the topic of Special Immigrant Juvenile Status. Do you have statistics on the number of children who have applied or who are affected in regards to the SIJS status in Nevada? Since you are sponsoring a bill in regards to the SIJS, what is your reason for supporting the bill in Nevada? I do have U.S. statistics for SIJS due to the federal reporting requirement however they are not specific to Nevada. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Greetings Assemblyman Edgar,

I read an article about creating a “road map” for high school teens.

I have such a website called MyMapPlan.com that helps students to map out a career path and plan for life after high school that I believe would be beneficial to your cause and high school teens.

Last year I became a vendor for the LAUSD to test it on some of their students and to get feedback. Currently we are working with service members on four military installations to also help with mapping a career path after the military.

MyMapPlan is a free service to any and all high school teens from 9th to 12th grade and also helps to promote parents to be involved in their teen’s career path and planning. Teens can receive yearly evaluation ratings from their influencers and parents. Counselors can also track their students and message their phones through our comprehensive messaging system. Students can also reach out directly to our sponsor’s job websites to fill their open positions when they graduate.

-resume builder

-personality test

-career planning

-comprehensive messaging system

-character building

-parent involvement

I think this would be a great fit and tool for your teens and counselors.

Thank you for your time.

Respectfully,

Hector Guerra

Dear Assemblyman Flores,

My name is Alan Cruz and I am a 15-year-old political student activist currently residing in North Las Vegas. I am writing to you because I am requesting for your support on a project and referendum my friend Sydney and I are presently working on.

The project we are in the process of developing aims to get our local youth and adults involved in politics and government. Our organization plans on focusing on local government, social issues, issues facing youth, peaceful protests, and civic engagement as a whole. Our [work in progress] name for our organizational project is entitled the β€˜Youth Civil Rights Movement’.

In addition to the construction of our organization, we want to pass a referendum in Clark County NV that lowers the age requirement to vote in municipal and local elections from 18 years of age to 16 years of age. We are asking for your support in aiding our mission to not only support our organization to empower the voices of youth around the valley but to also give us your voice. We are asking our local elected officials and leaders in the county to lend us their voice to prove that you not only represent the voices of adults, but the voices of the youth. We are passionate and ecstatic about what we, as high school students, are doing to progress youth empowerment.

It would be a pleasure to have your support, opinion, and ideas on the specific way that we should approach our project and the strategies needed to make it a reality.

Thank you so much for your time, effort, and consideration you put in as an elected official of Nevada. My email is [email protected] and my phone number is: (702) 497 – 8736 for direct contact.

My friend and I are serious about what we are trying to accomplish and we are aware of our limitations being only in high school but we hope you are on board with us on our journey to empower our youth and help make their voices heard.

I hope to hear back from you soon.

Sincerely,

Alan Cruz.

Good Afternoon Assemblyman Flores,

I was wondering if you could help change the age for casino gambling to 18 as it seems absurd that an adult of this age can serve in the armed forces and yet not be able to participate in a game of blackjack. California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Wyoming, Minnesota, Oklahoma, New York, Michigan, and Rhode Island have all done this. I also have here three links that appear to explain that senior citizens seem to have higher problem gambling rates than other segments of the population including young people. These take place in Canada where the age is 19 and in Rhode Island where the age is 18. I also have another link here that on page 98 says 2.2% of adults 18 and older have gambling problems; This is one of the smaller percentages compared to other states. These could all serve as evidence against those who are concerned about problem gambling.

I also found this online. According to this poll, an overwhelming majority of 91% think that it should be 18. Have a great day!πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜ŠπŸ˜ŠπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘
